22-year old arrested for alleged property offences, injuring an officer, causing multiple vehicle collisions
LETHBRIDGE – A short term investigation by Lethbridge Police into a number of alleged property offences led to an officer being struck by a car, three police vehicles being damaged and a 22-year old woman being arrested.
Members of the Priority Crimes Unit located a female suspect wanted in a series of property offences on Tuesday (Nov. 22) afternoon. She was parked in a white Pontiac Sunfire outside of the Smitty’s along the 2000 of Mayor Magrath Drive South.
According to police, an officer parked behind the car to arrest the woman. But as he opened his driver side door, she backed her vehicle into him, hitting the police cruiser.
In an attempt to avoid being arrested, the woman fled the scene in the Sunfire, resulting in collisions with three police vehicles and one civilian vehicle in the parking lot. That was followed by another three-vehicle collision on Mayor Magrath Drive.
