Wong scores second straight game winner as Canes edge Winterhawks
PORTLAND – With two big goals in two nights, the Hurricanes captain has got the ‘Cane Train’ back on the tracks.
After scoring the game winner Saturday night (Nov. 19) in Everett, Tyler Wong stepped up again, this time burying his second goal of the night in overtime to give the Hurricanes a 6-5 win over the Portland Winterhawks.
Wong now has four goals in his last three games, and leads the club with 13 on the season. He’s also second on the team with 21 points in 20 games, coming in behind Ryley Lindgren – who also found the back of the net twice against Portland – and his 25 points.
After Lindgren opened the scoring three minutes into the game, the Hurricanes would give up two goals in short order and a third before the first period was out, marking the end of the night for starter Stuart Skinner.
