Crash near Coaldale sends four to hospital

COALDALE – Four people were taken to hospital in Lethbridge following a collision between two trucks just east of Coaldale.

RCMP, Coaldale and Lethbridge County Fire Departments and EMS were called at approximately 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 to Highway 3 westbound at Range Road 194. According to police, a black truck had turned onto the Highway out of the Tempest elevator and was still speeding up when it was struck from behind by a silver truck.

Both vehicles rolled over in the north ditch, but both ended up upright.

The driver of the black truck, a woman in her 50s, and the silver truck’s driver, a 17-year-old boy, were treated for minor injuries and released. A passenger from the black truck, a man in his 50s, remained in hospital with a back injury, while a 15-year-old boy who was riding in the silver truck was still in hospital with an injured leg.
