Project Testing Grass Seed Along Scenic Drive

LETHBRIDGE – A grass seeding project between the City of Lethbridge and Olds College will reduce Southbound Scenic Drive to one lane early this afternoon (Thursday, June 9).

Ten different seed mixes are being planted, in a partnership with the Prairie Turfgrass Research Centre out of Olds, along the boulevard between Park Royal and Scenic Heights.

The seed’s establishment and survival in different soil compositions will be tested. Data from the project will be collected this growing season and through 2017 and 2018.

Scenic Drive is expected to open back up around 2:30-pm. Until then, motorists are asked to use caution in this area.
