Five Taken to Hospital After Collision Near Coalhurst

COALHURST – Five people were taken to hospital, with four in serious but non-life threatening condition, following a collision just north of Coalhurst.

It happened Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Range Road 225 and Township Road 100.

Emergency crews on scene explained that four people were in the SUV while only one person was in the car. They added that after the collision both vehicles also hit a power pole and that they had to extricate one person from each vehicle.

RCMP say the collision occurred when one of the vehicles failed to yield properly.
