LETHBRIDGE:  Once again, Thank You, to Lethbridge and area residents for helping Lethbridge Broadcast groups with our weekend bottle drive for Fort McMurray relief efforts.

On Saturday, May 14th, city media outlets put aside their competitiveness and worked together. Residents were encouraged to drop off their recyclable beverage containers at the Enmax Centre, and help fill trailers donated by Green’s Pop Shop Bottle Depot and Flaman Rentals.

In total, $11,963.80 was raised for the Red Cross to help residents of Fort McMurray.

Thank you – From Rogers stations, Rock-106 and The River 107.7; Pattison Broadcasting stations, Country-95, B-93, and LethbridgeNewsNow.com; Clear Sky radio stations, CJOC and The Bridge; The Lethbridge Herald; CTV and Global TV.

Media efforts were not the only Fort McMurray charity endeavors over the past week.

The Movie Mill raised $4,500 during a weekend movie event (double what they raised for the 2013 for floods).

Lethbridge Dodge gathered $13,000 during their fundraiser.

Gas King, with help from locations in Lethbridge, Picture Butte and Medicine Hat, donated over $7,000 to Red Cross for Fire Relief. Two cents from every litre of fuel purchased by their customers between Friday May 6th and Thursday May 12th was set aside to be donated to the Red Cross for Alberta fire relief.
