Well Above Normal Temperatures Prompt Special Weather Statement

LETHBRIDGE – A Special Weather Statement has been issued due to above normal temperatures this week which are expected to break some records in Alberta.

The statement was issued by Environment Canada, Alberta Environment and Parks, and Alberta Health.

Warm temperatures in the high 20’s and possibly into the 30’s will remain in place into midweek, before things start to cool off on Thursday, lowering temperatures to slightly above normal.

These hot conditions pose a health risk when you’re not used to the heat. Everyone is at risk, especially older adults; infants and young children; and people with chronic illnesses.
