LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge County has amended its Road Use Policy which now allows businesses and land owners to apply for road use permits on annually banned roads.

Amendments to Road Use Policy 352, now allow established commercial, industrial and agricultural operations, which are located on annually banned roads that offer the only access to their business, to apply for annual permit.

The annual $500 a year permit, if approved, allows businesses or legal land owners 100 per cent load hauling between January 1 and December 31.

According to a news release from the County, schedule “C” of Policy 352 outlines permit conditions and provides applicant information.

The applications, schedules and location map of annually banned roads are available at the County’s Lethbridge and Picture Butte locations, as well as online on the Lethbridge County website.

Eligibility information can be obtained from the Lethbridge or Picture Butte offices.
