BLOOD RESERVE – Drug overdoses are continuing to plague the Blood Reserve. Blood Tribe Police Inspector Farica Syrette says in the last 48 hours, there have been seven reported overdoses, including one fatality.
It’s not clear whether opioids, including fentanyl or carfentanil may be the cause.
Syrette says that number is unusually high, and they would like to caution anyone who uses drugs and health care providers across southern Alberta about the incidents.
If anyone has any information about the import or sale of illicit drugs on the Reserve, they are asked to contact the Blood Tribe Police Service at 403-737-3800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
