ALBERTA – With Environment Canada issuing Winter Storm Warnings for most of southern Alberta, the provincial government is advising drivers to prepare for winter conditions and to avoid travel if possible.
As of Wednesday, Feb. 7, afternoon, the weather agency is calling for significant snowfall, with amounts between 25 to 35 cm. In mountain parks and along the foothills, they noted that accumulated snowfall could reach 50 cm.
They also noted that conditions could deteriorate very quickly, which should be considered when travelling.
Based on that information, you’re asked to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
