New Home Construction Down More than 50% Across Alberta – Lethbridge Holding Steady

LETHBRIDGE:   New home construction has held steady in Lethbridge, when compared to the first three months of last year.

Between January and March, there were a combined 154 single and multi-family homes under construction in the city, which is comparable to 153 for the first quarter of 2015. 

So far this year, only Grande Prairie has posted increased new home construction, while Lethbridge is at par, compared to other centres in the province.

To date, new home construction in Calgary has dropped by 50%, while numbers for Edmonton, and for the province’s combined seven major urban areas are down by more than 50%.
