Fine and Driving Ban Imposed for Fatal Collision
LETHBRIDGE – A 50-year old woman who admitted to careless driving, for an incident in which a 49-year old cyclist was killed, has been handed a $2,000 fine and three month driving prohibition.
On May 30, 2015, Robyn Wilgosh was travelling east bound on Highway 3 around 10:45-am, when she hit Sherry Handsaeme who was riding her bike on the shoulder with a friend.
EMS pronounced Handsaeme dead on arrival at the scene.
Witnesses stated that the vehicle had been swerving in its lane and onto the shoulder for about 200-yards before hitting the cyclist.
