Alberta Premier Not Concerned About NDP Loss in Calgary By-Election
EDMONTON: Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says her party’s fourth-place finish in the Calgary-Greenway byelection was not a repudiation of her government’s policies.
Notley says voters in the riding were sending a message to her government that they are concerned about the economy.
She says that message was reinforced on the doorsteps during the campaign, and it’s an issue her government will continue to work on.
Calgary has been hard hit by the downturn in the oil economy, with thousands of jobs lost.
