Off-highway vehicle helmet legislation takes effect May 15
EDMONTON – The provincial government is reminding riders of off-highway vehicles that helmet legislation is coming into the province in the next two weeks.
Starting May 15, an approved helmet will be mandatory for those riding an off-highway vehicle on public land in Alberta.
OHVs include ATVs, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, 4-wheel drive vehicles, and side-by-sides.
“This government has made a commitment to improving safety on Alberta’s transportation network,” said Transportation Minister Brian Mason in a news release.
