Police Tightening Dispatch Protocols After Reported Sighting Of Wanted Man
LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police will tighten dispatch protocols after concern was raised on social media over the time it took officers to respond to a report of a wanted man.
A call came in to dispatch on Monday morning just before 6 a.m. reporting that a man wanted on a Canada wide warrant was believed to be at the Scenic Drive McDonalds. Dispatch staff were able to determine the caller was referring to David Fomradas.
Eight minutes after the initial call, dispatch was advised the subject had left the restaurant and the call was then placed in pending. At 7:20 a.m, an officer was dispatched to follow-up.
Police say video surveillance footage from McDonalds is insufficient to determine whether the reported subject was, in fact, Fomradas or not.
