Multiple Drug Charges Following Routine Traffic Stop

LETHBRIDGE – An Edmonton couple faces numerous drug related charges after a vehicle stop in South Lethbridge.

On Saturday, March 5 around 1:50-pm, Lethbridge Police stopped a vehicle in the area of 12 Avenue and 28 Street South for a Traffic Safety Act offense.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from Edmonton, and LPS found over 400 grams of methamphetamine inside. Cocaine, marijuana, cannabis resin, oxycodone, morphine, codeine and over $1,300 in cash were discovered, as well. The estimated street value is over $80,000.

In addition to the drug charges, the couple was found in possession of over $15,000 in stolen property.

Walter William Henry, 39, and Tamara Lee Bonner, 33, have been jointly charged with possession of the listed drugs and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Henry has an additional charge of failing to comply with a recognizance and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Court dates were not noted by police.
