Feb 28, 2016 | 10:18 AM

LETHBRIDGE – High school students interested in basic financial investing and stock markets have the chance to compete in the University of Lethbridge’s first-ever finance competition.

Registration is open until March 31. Space is available for 25 teams of three to four students to participate in three main categories.

First is an Investment Challenge that runs from April 18 to May 13. Students will create a portfolio, as well as buy and sell gold bars, treasury bills and stocks.

Teams will then present their results privately to a panel of judges during the Investment Challenge Presentation on May 27.

The Trading Challenge will pit teams against one another in two eight-minute challenges on the 27th, as well.

The top three teams will receive trophies, with the first place winners walking away with $200.
