Lethbridge Hurricanes Post First Shoot-Out Loss of the Season

LETHBRIDGE:  In spite of out-shooting the Regina Pats 55-46 the Lethbridge Hurricanes succumbed in the Shoot-Out for a 9-8 loss.

A fast-paced first period saw the Pats tally five goals to the Canes’ three.

Stuart Skinner started in net for the Canes, but was pulled after stopping 1-of-5 shots in the first. Jayden Sittler turned aside 37-of-41 shots in relief.

The Pats added another three goals in the last two frames. However, the Canes responded with two goals in the second and three in the final frame, to tie the game at eight goals apiece.

With no scoreing over-time, the Pats took the win and a seven-round shootout.

Colton Kroeker had a hat trick as part of a five-point night for the home team, which is now 40-19-1-1 in the standings. Captain Tyler Wong scored twice and added four assists, while Ryley Lindgren, Brayden Burke and Brady Reagan rounded out the attack.

The Hurricanes are in third place in the WHL standings with 82 points, close behind Victoria which has 86 points and Kelowna has 87.
