LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge College’s third year College Home partnership has added its part to the success and growth of the new trades and technology facility.

Daytona Homes, that built the first home to be sold, officially made a donation of $90,747 on Wednesday (Oct. 26) morning after selling the home to a local family. On top of moving in to a brand new home, the family also received a $2,500 student award to the college.

“Our team is proud to have contributed towards helping to strengthen the educational landscape for many generations that will ultimately add value to our city and region through their ability and knowledge to build quality homes,” said Guy Bellis, Daytona Homes general manager.

The College Home partnership started between Lethbridge College and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) back in 2013. It’s a five year program involving two CHBA builders each year that construct two new homes in coordination with a number of suppliers and tradespeople.

Each builder then donates a portion of the sale proceeds.

Signature Homes built the second home for the third year, that has yet to be sold.

Homes from Ashcroft, Galko, Avonlea and Stranville Master Builders raised $426,000 within the first two years of the project. The fourth year is underway with a home from Empire Homes now up for sale.
