Alberta NDP Government Gets More Push Back on L-G-B-T-Q Policy

Feb 19, 2016 | 5:37 AM

EDMONTON:  Alberta Education Minister David Eggen says he will try to work with a school board in northern Alberta that won’t send in a policy on how to further help transgender and sexual minority students in schools.

Clark McAskile of the Fort Vermilion School Division says it would be unnecessary duplication.

Alberta’s 61 school boards have been directed by Eggen to write draft policies to make schools safer and more accepting of L-G-B-T-Q students.

McAskile says Fort Vermilion board members say its existing policies make schools safe and caring places for all students.
