Care From the Heart Surpasses Goal by more than $16,000

LETHBRIDGE: The 7th annual Care From the Heart Radio-a-Thon was a huge success yesterday, as the $230-thosand goal was reached an surpassed.

The fundraiser, in support of the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, ran from 7-am to 6-pm.

As of 6:00 Thursday night, $246,419 was raised, with the help of six local radio stations, including Country 95 and B-93.

The money will be used to continue the hospital’s re-development and enhance patient care with the focus on three areas: State-of-the-Art healthcare equipment, Vital programs and Capital and Special Projects.

Large donations during the radio-athon included more than $103,000 from Costco, $14,000+ from Shopper’s Drug Mart and and Balog Auction raised more than $44,000 in 12-minutes during a special cattle auction last week.
