Flu shot clinics begin in southern Alberta

LETHBRIDGE – Health authorities hope to tackle the seasonal flu before it speads.

Alberta Health Services’ vaccination clinics are now underway. Any Albertan 6 months or older can get the shot for free.

The first public clinic in Lethbridge is Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main pavilion of Exhibition Park. There’s another on Thursday Oct. 27 during the same hours.

There are clinics in other communities as well, including one in Bow Island Monday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the provincial building.

Magrath hosts a clinic at the Garden City Seniors’ Centre Tuesday, Oct. 25 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Cardston’s Tanner Senior Centre will host a clinic Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. The same day there’s a clinic at the Coaldale Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fort Macleod and Foremost are holding clinics Thursday, Oct. 27. The Foremost event is from 2 to 7 p.m. at the community hall. In Fort Macleod the clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church Hall.
