Police Asking for Help Locating Stolen “Magic the Gathering” Cards
LETHBRIDGE – Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a set of “Magic the Gathering” cards worth around $10-thousand.
On January 22, the cards were accidentally left at the Kapow Comics store following a tournament and were subsequently stolen.
Police received a report that someone was trying to sell the cards at Showcase Comics on January 23. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but the suspect left 35 of them behind.
They’ve since charged 33-year old Michael Thomas Coates with theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking. He’s set to appear in court on February 19.
