LETHBRIDGE: The school bus driver involved in Wednesday’s collision on 23 Street North has been charged.
Around 3:16 the City of Lethbridge school bus with children on board was travelling northbound, when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that was stopped and waiting to make a left-hand turn. The bus went over the centre line and hit an SUV driven by a 67-year old, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
None of the kids on the bus or the driver were injured in the collision.
64-year old Ken Kissik has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act with driving left of the centre line. The penalty is a $233 fine.
