Lethbridge Announces “Celebrate Downtown” Awards.

LETHBRIDGE: The City of Lethbridge is inviting nominations for the first ever “Celebrate Downtown” Awards.

Individuals, businesses, organizations will be recognized April 6th during a banquet.

Celebrate Downtown Co-chair Dawn Leite says it is an opportunity to put the spotlight on some unsung heroes.

“We have fantastic people in our downtown but they’re so often in the depths of their own organizations, working on their mission and vision, working on their business plan to survive day to day. It is not often we come together as a community to celebrate our successes.”

There are five categories:

Back In The Day Award – Recognizes a Nominee who has contributed to the preservation of downtown Lethbridge
Champagne Award – Recognizes a Nominee for being a champion of a vibrant downtown
Hip Downtown Transformation Award – Recognizes a Nominee who has been a leader in the transformation of downtown
- Running with the Bulls Award – Recognizes a Nominee who has challenged the status quo to maintain a vibrant downtown
Taking Care of Business Award – Recognizes a Nominee who has been committed to taking care of the downtown community

It has been 10 years since the Heart of Our City Master Plan was established to foster the revitalization of downtown Lethbridge.
