Lethbridge Teen Severely Burned From Alleged Exploding E-Cigarette
LETHBRIDGE: The father of a Lethbridge teen who was severely burned from an exploding e-cigarette wants to change regulations around the device.
16 year old Ty Greer says he was using a so-called unregulated e-cigarette last week when it blew up in his face – causing first and second degree burns in his mouth and on his face.
“Took out two of his front teeth, cut his tongue, burned the top of his mouth, the back of his throat, his face, his eyebrows…and if he wasn’t a kid who wore glasses, it probably would have taken his eyes out.”
His father Perry says they’re weighing their legal options but is shocked there aren’t stricter laws in place.
