LETHBRIDGE –  The Lethbridge Community Network wants you to go through your used or unwanted electronics, and bring them to local recycling depots.

LCN’s “Ecycle Recycle Drive” runs until tomorrow (January 15th), and accepts everything from PCs and notebooks, to cellphones and televisions.

Executive Director Alan Schneider says “LCN contributes to an intelligent community by providing public access to the internet through 40+ computers within the city, and is pursuing free public Wi-Fi initiatives, including subsidized Wi-Fi for low income families and individuals.”

LCN Staff and volunteers will be sorting items and ensuring all  re-usable items make it to the office for refurbishing and are put back into the community through its programs.

LCN is also advising people to remove all personal information from their devices before bringing them in for recycling. Anyone concerned about personal privacy can contact them for assistance.

Last year, Lethbridge Community Network collected more than 45 – thousand pounds of electronics, and raised $6,000 to put toward its programs.

All city residents and businesses are invited to drop off all unwanted electronics in the designated recycling bins located at:

  •  1817 3rd Avenue South (across from Mint Car Wash)
  •  Save-On Foods West (401 Highland Blvd. West)
  •  Lethbridge Downtown Public Library (810 5th Avenue South)
  •  LCN’s Downtown office (427 5th Street South)
