Air quality continues to affect southern Alberta

LETHBRIDGE — For a second straight morning Lethbridge is waking up to an air quality advisory.
As of Tuesday, July 18, the statement from Environment Canada only includes the southernmost parts of the province. Areas like Vulcan and Claresholm are out of the worst of it for now.
The smoke is expected to linger the longest in regions closest to the foothills.
Smoke from BC forest fires is not only affecting air quality, but visibility in places. An advisory from Alberta Health Services for all of southern Alberta will remain in effect until further notice.
