Lethbridge and Edmonton – Alberta’s only Major Urban Centres to Tallies Increased New Home Starts
Lower oil prices, which have impacted employment, migration and consumer confidence, are being blamed for reduced housing demand in many locations across the province. Statistics show the drop was particularly harsh in Calgary’s metropolitan area…where new home starts dropped by more than 4100 hundred units last year.

By 2015 year end, Lethbridge had recorded a combined 833 single and multi-family new home starts. That compared to to 676 in 2014.
