Blood Tribe Police arrest man wanted for sexual assaults

STANDOFF —  ***Up-Date – Charles Soop was arrested and is now in custody.

A 24-year old Blood Tribe man is wanted by police for two sexual assaults and an assault that occurred on the Blood Reserve.

In August 2018, Charles Soop was arrested for assaulting a youth and after failing to attend court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

In November 2018, Soop was arrested for a historical sexual assault on a youth, and released on a Recognizance.  He again failed to attend court.

That same month, Blood Tribe Police investigated a sexual assault on a youth, in which Soop was identified as the accused. Another arrest warrant was issued but, police have been unable to locate him.

Charles Soop is known to frequent the Moses Lake and Cardston area but the investigation has led police to believe he may be in Calgary.
