LPS: Response downtown not connected to a bank robbery

LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police have confirmed that it was not a bank robbery that drew them to the CIBC branch located at 701 4 Ave. South Thursday afternoon, Jan. 25.
Following up on a Facebook post made on Lethbridge and Area Roast and Toast (pictured above), Lethbridge News Now contacted LPS, who quickly stated that they wanted to ease any public concerns of a robbery.
They explained that officers responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. as part of a Priority Crimes unit investigation into an incident regarding a stolen vehicle.
They added that the investigation is ongoing and anticipate they will be able to release more details on Friday, Jan. 26.
