Suspect Arrested in Connection with Violent Attack on Lethbridge Woman

LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Police Service has arrested an individual in connection with a violent attack on a 25-year old Lethbridge woman.

At this point they are only saying a suspect is in custody and that the investigation is continuing. They added that further information is being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation.

On the morning of September 30, police were called to the 2000 block of 6 Avenue South by a passerby who found the victim.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries and currently remains in critical but stable condition in Foothills Hospital in Calgary.

Through their investigation police have determined that she was walking eastbound on 6 Avenue South between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. when the assault occurred. Through an extensive canvas of the neighbourhood, police then started piecing together a full picture of her activities leading up to the attack.

Police have noted that updates will be provided when possible.
