Enrolment largely stable in Lethbridge School District
LETHBRIDGE — Public schools in Lethbridge are seeing enrolment numbers that are fairly stable, according to the superintendent of schools.
Cheryl Gilmore said Lethbridge School District No. 51 had enrolment of 10,712 as of Sept. 27, close to the projections and an increase of approximately 80 students over last year.
While elementary school enrolment is essentially unchanged, there are increases of between 30 and 50 students at Wilson and G.S. Lakie middle schools. Chinook High School is above the projection.
“We did have a modest adjustment in Senator Buchanan, with some families moving away, some going to the new Catholic school on the north side, and some relocating to other areas of Lethbridge,” Gilmore said. But she adds that since then the numbers there are up again.
