Southern Alberta Welcomes Completion of Waterton’s First Major Infrastructure Upgrades
Waterton – Waterton Lakes National Park celebrated the completion of two major projects on Saturday (Sep. 30).
Red Rock Canyon Parkway was resurfaced and more parking was added at the end near the Canyon over this summer. It came in under budget at $5-million.
The $8-million resurfacing, guard rail replacement and ditching project along Highway 5/6, which runs down to the US border, was also finished.
Families were invited to bring their bikes along for the sixth annual Ride the Red Rock event and travel the 30-kilometer loop to experience the combined $13-million in upgrades.
