Bulls close out Sask. trip with loss at Melville

MELVILLE, Sask. – The Lethbridge Bulls fell behind in the middle innings, losing to the Melville Millionaires 5-2 to close out their Saskatchewan trip.
Lethbridge opened the scoring with a solo home run by Ashton Roy in the first inning. Grant Schmidt drove in a run by Blake MacDonald with a sacrifice fly in the seventh.
Starter Andrew Grieder was tagged with the loss, allowing one run on five hits over four innings. Reliever Kai Poffenroth allowed three runs in one-and-a-third innings.
The Bulls were 2-4 on their swing through the Eastern Division, with an overall record of 13-20. Their next game is Friday, July 13 at Okotoks before returning home for a pair of weekend games against Moose Jaw.
