TABER, AB – A Lethbridge man charged with numerous offences involving a home invasion and assault at a home in Taber in July 2018, has been sentenced.

According to Taber Police, they were called to a resident’s home in the 5800 block of 52 St. for a report of an elderly, 87-year-old man who had been robbed and severely beaten.

Police identified two suspects, including a 28-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man. They were later arrested in Lethbridge.

According to court documents, charges of break and enter, robbery, and aggravated assault were withdrawn against Heinrich Froese.

He was, however, convicted of assault, and received a sentence of 114 days. Less pre-trial custody of 114 days, he will serve no additional time.
