LETHBRIDGE, AB – For the first time in the school’s history, Lethbridge College will host a conference volleyball championship.

The 2019-2020 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Volleyball Championship was awarded to the school at an ACAC meeting in Edmonton Wednesday, May 8.

The tournament will feature eight teams and take place from February 26 to 29, 2020 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium at Lethbridge College.

The event will mark the fourth year in a row that the school has hosted an ACAC championship. In 2016, Lethbridge College hosted the women’s basketball and indoor track events, in 2017 it was the men’s basketball tournament and this past March, the men and women’s futsal championships.

The Kodiak’s men’s volleyball team has made their presence felt over the past few years in the ACAC. The team has made the playoffs in four of its last five seasons, making back-to-back ACAC semi-final appearances and winning an ACAC medal for the first time in program history this spring (silver).

This past campaign, the team posted an impressive 22-2 record, which was the best record in Kodiaks volleyball history.

The ACAC regular volleyball season will start up in October.
