Police searching for suspect caught on video stealing from cars in Coaldale

COALDALE, AB – Thefts from vehicles are on the rise in Coaldale.

That’s according to the Coaldale RCMP. The detachment said that during the early morning hours of May 21, a suspect or suspects were in the Westgate neighborhood on the town’s west end.

Mounties allege that multiple vehicles were entered, and items were taken, including a cell phone and a laptop. Video surveillance footage has been provided by the RCMP, and the public is asked to contact the detachment with any information in identifying the alleged suspect in the video.

The RCMP is encouraging the public to remove any valuable items from their vehicles or at least leave them out of sight. In addition, residents are encouraged to lock their vehicles and their homes, as well as to look out for their neighbours and report any suspicious activities to police.Anyone with information on this incident can contact the Coaldale RCMP’s rural detachment line at (403) 329-5080 or the municipal detachment at (403) 345-5552.
