Henderson Pool slated to open on Monday and Westminster Pool follows next weekend

LETHBRIDGE, AB – With the recent hot weather, City of Lethbridge staff have been working to prepare the outdoor pools for opening.

As a result of that work, Henderson Pool is slated to open Monday, June 10 and Westminster Outdoor Public Pool will be opening on Saturday, June 15.

Henderson Pool will open with school group bookings during the day and open swim from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The hours will extend to the regular summer schedule from June 29 to September 2, open to the public from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week.

On statutory holidays, the pool will be open 1 – 7 p.m.

Henderson Pool has proven to be a popular summer stop featuring waterslides, a climbing wall, diving board, drop slide and the Rotary Spray Park. It’s also fully accessible for the community by offering a zero-depth entry pool and available change rooms.

The ENMAX Centre provides an on-site concession for visitors inside the pool facility.

Westminster Outdoor Public Pool will open with a free swim to celebrate YQL Neighbor Day and a free swim for dads on Sunday, June 16, for Father’s Day.

Both days the pool will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Following that, the pool will be open swims from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and lane swims from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

There will be lane swim from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and open swim from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Summer hours begin on June 28 with extended hours daily.

All outdoor pools are subject to weather changes and may be shut down if the weather is not favourable or safe for outdoor swimming.
