Two-year sentence handed down for Lethbridge’s biggest ever drug bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A 30-year-old man, originally charged with eight offences in relation to the biggest drug bust ever in Lethbridge, has pleaded guilty to one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Drew Boake has been handed a two-year Federal sentence. He has asked to be placed in the Drumheller Institution, near family.

According to an agreed statement of facts, on February 15, 2017, Lethbridge Police executed a search warrant on a home on Modesto Road West and found 21.7 kg of marijuana in a locked box in a detached garage. While the home was not Boakes’, the box in the garage was associated with him.

Lethbridge Police originally said that during the drug bust they reportedly seized 8,054 ecstasy pills, 546 gram of cocaine, 305 grams of methamphetamine, 20.9 kg of marijuana, 4.5 kg of cannabis resin, 9 kg of psilocybin mushrooms, 1,605 tabs of LSD and 1,575 Xanax pills worth $1.2 million combined.
