As significant wildfires continue to ravage northern Alberta, Mexico looks to do its part to help out.

Both firefighters and support staff have flown in from Jalisco, Mexico to help with fire fighting efforts.

According to Alberta Wildfire, two significant blazes near High Level remain out of control, being 331,946 hectares and 77,486 hectares in size respectively.

They say a lot of work still needs to be done before either of them can be classified as “under control,” adding that the support from south of Canada is greatly appreciated.

“We thank them, and all of the other people from around Canada and the United States who have come in to assist in firefighting efforts,” reads a social media post from Alberta Wildfire.

Crews from America headed home over the weekend after holding the 273,045 hectare McMillan Complex fire in the Slave Lake area.
