Lethbridge Hurricanes sign forward Oliver Okuliar

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Hailing from Trencin, Slovakia, Okuliar was the Hurricanes’ only pick in this year’s CHL Import Draft.

The 19-year-old played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season, recording 42 points, 46 penalty minutes, and a pus-13 rating in 66 games with the Sherbrooke Pheonix. In the post season, Okuliar added four points in 10 contests.

He will be the Hurricanes’ second European-born player alongside defenseman Danila Palivko.

The 2019-2020 regular season kicks off on Friday, September 20th when the Lethbridge Hurricanes welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers to the ENMAX Centre.
