Adaptive Technology celebrates first year of service to Lethbridge and area

LETHBRIDGE –– This is an exciting month for the Adaptive Technology crew as they celebrate their first anniversary!

Lethbridge’s newest prosthetic and orthotic care facility is a team of four friends who banded together to create Adaptive Technologies so they can help their patients achieve a better quality of life.

The team includes Certified Pedorthist, Emile Soper, two Certified Orthotists, Ryan Cochrane and Koji Duncan, and Rianna Wilson, who creates custom orthotics.

“It’s been a year full of learning, ups and downs, and excitement,” says Emilie Soper.

Most entrepreneurs do not anticipate every single scenario that comes their way and that can lead to some challenges but, also learning opportunities. The road can be lengthy and tiresome, but the foursome has taken on this new adventure with tenacity and couldn’t be happier.

“We have a great team. Not only at the office, but our families have been very supportive, which pushes us to strive to be the best we can be.” says Ryan Cochrane.

The team was unsure whether or not another clinic would be beneficial to the community, but Adaptive Technologies is trying to do things a bit differently, to help those in a market that may not have been previously supported.

The retail model integrated with the clinical side helps the clinicians offer a wider range of products to the Lethbridge community, thus helping many individuals find braces at a more affordable cost.

“It’s been great connecting more with physiotherapists, chiropractors, athletic therapists, naturopaths, etc to help facilitate a more collaborative health care approach to patient care.” says Koji Duncan.

Navigating the healthcare system can be daunting and confusing, so Adaptive Technologies is trying its best to help bridge the gap.

“Sometimes it works well and other times we’re frustrated that patient care can fall through the cracks, but we believe we can do our small part to help fix that” says Emilie.

Adaptive Technologies is very grateful to be a part of such a diverse community and enjoys getting to know each individual and their families as they walk through the door. They love educating the public and are known to do facility tours to anyone who asks, which helps make people feel more at ease, when they need an orthotic or prosthetic.

“We would like to thank Lethbridge and surrounding communities for all the support over the past year and we’re very excited to help for many more years to come.” says Ryan Cochrane.

You can find Adaptive Technologies near the Casino, on 41 street south. It’s a 2700 square foot facility that features four patient rooms so they can provide services related to prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthics. Most impressively, they use state of the art technology to manufacture individual prosthetics, orthotics and pedorthics right there – in house!
