Taber man arrested for allegedly possessing meth & cocaine

TABER, AB – At approximately 9:30 am on Friday, July 19th, member of the public noted suspicious activities in town and reported it to the Taber Police Service.

A 21-year-old man was reportedly found to have warrants out for his arrest.

Upon further investigation, Police Chief Graham Abela claimed to have found five grams of crystal methamphetamine and four grams of cocaine.

The suspect was put behind bars, but has been released on a promise to appear in Taber Provincial Court.

“This is an excellent example of reporting suspicious activity to the police and the results that can ensue,” reads a social media post from Taber Police Service. “Crystal methamphetamine is a problem and we need to address it with everyone lending a hand.”

Since the charges have not yet been officially entered, the detachment is not releasing the name of the suspect.
