LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents will have full access to RiverStone Boulevard again next week.

The latest phase in the University Drive Twinning project is set to start up August 6, weather depending.

With that, the RiverStone Boulevard intersection will be re-opened, and work will move south to the intersection of University Drive and Grand River Boulevard/Rocky Mountain Boulevard W.

This phase of the project is expected to last eight weeks. To complete the work, the east leg of the intersection will be closed.

Northbound and southbound traffic on University Drive W. will not be impacted, according to the City of Lethbridge. The work will involve an intersection expansion and installation of underground utilities.

The City is asking residents in the RiverStone neighborhood to use RiverStone Boulevard W. or Riverglen Link W. to access University Drive W.

In addition, before school begins on September 3, the mid-block pedestrian crossing will be moved closer to Grand River Boulevard W.

While the Grand River Boulevard intersection is closed, crews will finish the paving of Grand River Boulevard, which was part of the City’s milling and paving program for 2019.

That work is slated to begin on August 7 and be completed by August 12.
