LETHBRIDGE, AB – A winner has been crowned at a prestigious golf tournament held in Lethbridge this week.

After days of heavy competition, Emily Zhu came out on top thanks to a strong final two rounds.

“I’m still kind of in shock,” says Zhu. “Going into this tournament I really wanted to win, so this win makes me feel really, really good. I tried to play it like yesterday – focus on my shot and focus on hitting each one as good as I can.”

They key moment in her victory came on No. 11 when Zhu birdied and the then-first-place YanJun Lio double-bogeyed.

The Richmond Hill, Ontario native finished the final round Friday four under par at 68. This follows her round three result of 67 (-5), and 70 (-2) in both of the first two rounds.

By the end, she had a combined 13 under par.

Liu finished second at eight under, while the defending champion Celeste Dao was third at three under.
