Substantial Fentanyl seizure in Coalhurst

LETHBRIDGE — A three month investigation by ALERT’s Lethbridge organized crime and gang team resulted in an arrest and the seizure fentanyl pills and powder worth an estimated $118,000.

On Thursday (Aug. 8), officers conducted a vehicle stop with assistance from Lethbridge Police Service, and executed a search warrant at a home in Coalhurst with the help of Lethbridge RCMP.

Between the vehicle and the home, officers seized 290 grams of suspected carfentanil powder; 67 fentanyl pills; 68 grams of cocaine; and nearly $35,000 in cash, the proceeds of crime.

Herman Dhami, aged 25, faces three charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Insp. Sean Boser states, “This is a significant amount of drugs to take out of southern Alberta communities – Investigations like this one are key to meeting our goal of keeping communities safe.”
