LETHBRIDGE, AB – Students at Lethbridge College this year will be under the tutelage of three new academic leaders.

Dr. Kevin Smith is the new Dean of the Centre for Applied Arts and Sciences.

He holds a PhD from MRC Clinical Research Centre is Harrow, England, and has worked as a research chair in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, the Department Chair at Edinburgh Napier University, and most recently, the Dean of Graduate Programs at the University of Northern British Columbia.

Dr. Terry Kowalchuk has been named the new Dean of the Centre for Technology, Environment, and Design.

He has been with Lethbridge College since 1995, working in a wide range of roles including instructor, program coordinator, program leader, chair, interim dean, and most recently, the Associate Dean in the Centre for Technology, Environment, and Design.

Last, but certainly not least, Sheldon Anderson will begin his first full year as the Dean of the Centre for Trades.

He began teaching at Lethbridge College in 2004 and became a chair in 2007. The College says Anderson was a key leader in the development of the new Trades, Technology, and Innovation Facility. He officially became the faculty’s dean in January 2019.
