Hurricanes release training camp schedule

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes will start up their training camp next week.

The team announced its training schedule today (Aug. 20). Training camp will start on Wednesday, August 28 at the ENMAX Centre with rookie camp events. The main camp will begin Friday, August 30.

On-ice testing as part of the rookie camp will start at 11:00 a.m. on the 28, while Friday’s main camp will begin at 10:00 a.m. The entire camp period is open and free for the public to attend.

The rookie camp schedule is as follows, with all sessions at the ENMAX Centre:

· Game (Team B vs. Team C): 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

· Game (Team A vs. Team B): 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Saturday, August 31

· Game (Team A vs. Team C): 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

· Game (Team B vs. Team C): 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

· Game (Team A vs. Team B): 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

· Practice (Team Red): 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

· Practice (Team White): 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

The Hurricanes noted that times and location of the events are subject to change, and ENMAX is the official sponsor of both the team’s training camp and pre-season.

The annual Red vs. White intrasquad game will take place on Sunday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre. The public is welcome to attend for free with a donation of a non-perishable food item for local food banks.

The Hurricanes start their four-game pre-season on Friday, September 6 when they visit the Red Deer Rebels. Below is the full pre-season schedule:

· Friday, Sept. 6 – at Red Deer Rebels (7:00 p.m.)

· Saturday, Sept. 7 – vs. Red Deer Rebels at the ENMAX Centre (7:00 p.m.)

· Friday, Sept. 13 – vs. Swift Current Broncos at the ENMAX Centre (7:00 p.m.)

· Saturday, September 14 – at Swift Current Broncos (7:00 p.m.)
