Firefighters respond to basement fire in north Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Just after midnight on Sunday, August 25th, 15 personnel from Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services were called to a basement fire on the 200 block of 18th Street North.
Crews were able to knock the fire down quickly, but the home suffered extensive smoke damage throughout. Damages are estimated at $75,000.
Two adults and a young child were able to evacuate from the house safely.
Investigators say the blaze was accidental.
